Postponed to Sunday 12:30 at Shul - New Book: “The Book of Lost Names” by Kristin Harmel-“A heart-stopping novel of survival and heroism centred on a female forger who risks everything to help Jewish children escape Nazi -occupied France.” A book that is hard to put down.

SUNDAY FUNDAY AT CBIOS FOR KIDS
NEW MONTHLY PROGRAM!!!
Introducing exciting activities for all ages of children and youth, co-sponsored by the Jewish Agency of Israel and CBIOS. The program offers your children a connection to Israel and other communities in Canada. The program is facilitated by the shlichim (adult representatives from Israel) and the shinshinim (Israeli 18-year-olds volunteering for a year in Canada) on a monthly Sunday. Sometimes they will be with us to celebrate Shabbat as well. Most Sunday activities will be crafts, songs, games and learning about the holidays and Israel.
These are the dates:
February 1 – Two Shinshinim from Montreal- Payment and RSVP by January 28th
February 22 – Aviad, Habonim Dror Shaliach (Vancouver)- Home Hospitality needed- Payment and RSVP by February 18th
March 15 – Daniella, Head of Mission (Montreal)- Payment and RSVP by March 11
May -TBD – Two Shinshinim from Montreal- Home Hospitality needed June – To be determined
COST:
- Classes and Lunch- Free for members
- Classes and Lunch- $20 for non-members per child/youth

Modern Conversational Hebrew
Weekly Lessons at the CBIOS
Thursdays between November 20 and February 19, from 19:30 to 21:00 (except during December
holidays)
Teachers: Barry Meislin and Genevieve Blanchard
Goal:
To provide students with functional conversational skills, basic reading, writing and listening skills, and using
vocabulary for daily life and visits.
Two groups:
-
א-Aleph for the beginners who are new to the language
-
ב-Beit for those who have a base and wish to continue.
Free for members. For non-members, we suggest a $10 donation per class to the synagogue.
